The pools for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, set to take place in England, have been officially confirmed. This announcement marks a significant milestone for what is expected to be the biggest global celebration of women’s rugby to date. The tournament will run from August 22 to September 27, 2025.

During the live draw on the BBC’s The One Show, hosted by Gabby Logan and featuring rugby star Maggie Alphonsi, the 16 qualified teams were divided into four pools. The teams were placed based on their World Rugby Women’s Rankings, ensuring that the top four teams—England, Canada, New Zealand, and France—were positioned at the top of each pool.

England, the current number one in the world rankings and the host nation, will compete in Pool A, alongside Australia, the USA, and Samoa. Pool B will feature Canada, ranked second globally, facing off against Scotland, Wales, and Fiji. Reigning champions New Zealand will lead Pool C, joined by Ireland, Japan, and Spain. Finally, Pool D will see France, 2021 bronze medalists, take on Italy, South Africa, and Brazil.

Each team will play their pool rivals over the course of three weekends, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the knockout stages. The competition promises a thrilling path to the final, as the best teams in women’s rugby battle for glory on the global stage.
