David Ian Campese, affectionately known in the rugby world as “Campo,” was born on October 21, 1962, in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia. His professional rugby career spanned from 1982 to 1996, during which he became renowned for his dynamic playing style and significant contributions to the sport.

Throughout his illustrious career, Campese represented several teams both in Australia and Italy. His club career commenced with the Queanbeyan Whites, where he played from 1979 to 1986, followed by a stint at Randwick from 1987 to 1999. His overseas experience included playing for Italian clubs such as Petrarca Padova from 1984/85 to 1987/88 and Amatori Milan from 1988 to 1992/93. On the international front, Campese was a pivotal player for the Australia National Team from 1982 until 1996, earning 101 caps.
