The United States has become the first team to announce its squad for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, naming a 32-player roster led by captain Kate Zackary. The tournament kicks off with the USA facing hosts England in the opening match at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Friday, August 22.

Zackary, who will captain the side for a second consecutive World Cup, is appearing in her third edition of the tournament. She is joined by a number of experienced players, including loosehead prop Hope Rogers, who is set to feature in her fourth Rugby World Cup.

The USA squad reflects a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, as they prepare for a challenging Pool A campaign that includes fixtures against England, Australia, and Samoa.

The squad’s preparations continue on Saturday, July 19 with a match against Fiji. They then travel to Canada for a final warm-up match on Friday, August 1 before leaving for an acclimatisation camp.

The USA, who won the inaugural Women’s Rugby World Cup in 1991, reached the quarter-finals in the most recent tournament held in 2022.
