The 2025 edition of the World Rugby Awards 2025 once again recognised the leading figures in international rugby, highlighting individual performances that defined the global season.
The Men’s 15s Player of the Year award went to South African hooker Malcolm Marx, who reaffirmed his status as one of the most influential players in world rugby. His impact throughout the year, both in contact situations and in open play, proved decisive in the most demanding international fixtures.
Combining physical power, technical precision in the forward pack and a strong attacking presence, Marx consistently set the standard at the highest level. His leadership and reliability were key factors in maintaining South Africa’s competitive edge against elite opposition.
Alongside the main award, the ceremony also celebrated emerging talents from across the rugby world, underlining the continued generational renewal that is strengthening the international game.
