Emma Elisbath J. Sing, born on 11 March 2001 in South Molton, Devon, is one of England’s brightest young rugby talents. Playing at full-back, she has developed into a dependable attacking threat for both Gloucester-Hartpury and the England national team.
After joining Gloucester-Hartpury during the 2018–19 season, Sing quickly established herself as a key player in one of England’s strongest club sides. Her pace, finishing ability and consistency helped the club capture three consecutive league titles, while her impressive performances earned her a senior England debut in 2022.
Her rise has continued with regular involvement in the Red Roses squad, culminating in selection for the 2025 Rugby World Cup, where England lifted the trophy to become world champions.

4) Key Career Moments
Sing began her senior club career with Gloucester-Hartpury during the 2018–19 season and has played an important role in the club’s sustained success.
She helped Gloucester-Hartpury win the 2022–23 Premier 15s title before contributing to back-to-back Premiership Women’s Rugby championships in 2023–24 and 2024–25, completing an outstanding run of three consecutive league titles.
Her senior England debut came against Scotland in March 2022. Shortly afterwards, she scored her first international try against Italy during the 2022 Women’s Six Nations.
Although she was part of England’s wider training squad before the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup, she was not selected for the final squad that travelled to New Zealand.
In 2023, Sing earned her first international start against Wales during the Women’s Six Nations before later being called into England’s squad as an injury replacement for the WXV tournament.
She returned to the Red Roses squad for the 2025 Women’s Six Nations before being selected for the 2025 Rugby World Cup. She also featured in England’s World Cup warm-up preparations against Spain as the Red Roses went on to secure the World Cup title.
5) Personal Life
Emma Sing grew up on her family’s farm in Devon, where she first discovered rugby at the age of six. She played junior rugby for South Molton and Crediton, while also representing Devon Under-15s and Devon Under-18s before joining Hartpury College at the age of 16.
Alongside her rugby career, Sing has pursued her education at Hartpury University, studying Bioveterinary Science with the ambition of becoming a veterinarian.
